By Nick Kypreos | NHL.com The dream catcher is a valuable commodity for any team that needs it.
The dreamer, on the other hand, is often a piece of a better fantasy team.
The first question we ask of fantasy players is “what is the fantasy value of that player?”
For every good fantasy player, there are some who are better than others.
We’ll examine which of those are the dreamers.
For example, how much better are dream catcher Matt Hendricks or dream catcher Jake Oettinger than the rest of the dream catcher’s fantasy value?
Hendricks and Oettingers are good fantasy players, and it’s easy to see why.
Both have been the top fantasy goalies for several years.
Both played in the NHL in 2014-15, and both have been solid in the fantasy playoffs.
The key difference is Hendricks is a better goalie.
His numbers have been more impressive in the playoffs, and he’s been a better overall fantasy goalie in fantasy than Oettingert is in fantasy.
However, Hendricks is no slouch in fantasy when it comes to fantasy goals.
His .928 save percentage ranks fourth in the league.
Oettingermas goal is even better, having an .934 save percentage and a 2.04 goals against average.
Hendricks has been great for the St. Louis Blues and for the Minnesota Wild.
However that’s not the only reason Hendricks is worth a shot.
His fantasy value is greater than the average fantasy goalie.
Hendricks is better in goal for every team.
We have a hard time ranking Hendricks in the top 10 fantasy goaltenders in fantasy because he is not a top goalie for all fantasy teams.
If you have an elite goalie, he may be better than you.
However for fantasy teams, you want the top goalie in your league.
Hendricks should be the first goalie on your fantasy team when the playoffs begin.
Hendricks will not disappoint.
He has been a fantasy superstar for several seasons.
He is a great goalie and the top goalie in the Western Conference for the past four seasons.
Hendricks can be a solid fantasy goaltender for the next few years.
If he is healthy, Hendricks will likely be a top fantasy goalie for a few years to come.
If not, he could still be a good goalie in the first round or late-round fantasy drafts.
If your team is interested in drafting a fantasy goalie, the St Louis Blues have him.
Hendricks’ price tag may be too high for some teams, but he has been good for them for a number of years.
He’s also a fantastic fantasy goalie at the NHL level.
Fantasy teams should look into him in a few drafts.
