The driver, who was not immediately named, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Pandya, who had been a driver for two years, had been admitted to the local hospital after he suffered an accidental head injury.
He was the second person to die in the city this year.

“The driver has died and the accident is being investigated.”
Pandya was a resident and the only son of a teacher and a doctor.
He had worked in a small private hospital and as a traffic officer.
His wife and son were also in the car, according to the Kolkatt police.
